Design and Display
Despite their stark size differences, the OnePlus 12 and Galaxy S24 appear to be very similar at first glance. From the front, a hole-punch selfie camera is positioned in the center of a full-screen, bezel-less design. However, if you turn them over, you’ll see that these are two quite different phones. With a refresh rate of 120 Hz, brightness may reach an astounding 4,500 nits, about twice as high as most other premium phones. While the S24’s 6.2-inch display lacks sharpness and brightness, it is still quite good with 416 pixels per inch and a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Its underlying screen technology is its main advantage over the OnePlus 12. Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology produces sharp colors and deep blacks. Both the OnePlus 12 and the Galaxy S24 are running custom versions of Android 14, with the S24 running One UI 6.1 and the S24 running OxygenOS 14. Both of them will function largely as you would anticipate from the most recent version of Android, despite having unique design elements and subtle differences. However, OxygenOS is the “cleaner” of the two and is more akin to the more minimal versions of Android found on Google Pixel smartphones.
